Beautiful Web Design for the Cutest Handyman Duo around, Dog & Dan Handyman
Dog & Dan aren’t your typical contractors. They arrive on time, and stay until the job is done, helping busy homeowners, senior citizens, families and businesses with everything from full on contracting work to small fix-it jobs. While they do lots of traditional contracting services, where they set themselves apart is doing the small things people can’t do on their own.
First we tackled the branding:
In Dan’s job as facilities director of large residential properties, he’d dealt with his fair share of contractors and service providers. After managing thousands of jobs he saw a few things that really bothered him, and he decided to be different. That started with a different approach to marketing– an honest, friendly, website and brand. Not only does the Dog & Dan brand convey trust, it also is a beautiful piece of marketing that’s easy to apply across stickers, business cards, even a truck wrap!
We would be remiss if we didn’t talk about the peculiar partnership within Dog & Dan. Ever since he was a puppy, Winston has gone everywhere with Dan. The first time Dan tried to leave him alone and go to work, he gave Dan that “Wait, you’re not taking me?” look. After a couple of days of this Dan gave in and soon he was taking Winston everywhere, much to the delight of his clients and coworkers.
The Problem
Communicating trust in a brand comes down to two things: Good copy and good design. With so many bad contractors out there, Dog & Dan really needed to nail professionally in their brand, as well as warmth.
Dan also needed a website that he could be proud to have represent him– no more excuses of, “it’s under-construction!” When handing out business cards– more of a, “You’ve got to check out my website, it’s got the entire story of Winston on it!”
What made Dog & Dan Handyman totally satisfied?
We listened. During our drafting phase (the part of our special Fingerprint Marketing process where we create samples of what the website will look like) something felt off to Dan, but he couldn’t put his finger on it. Our lead developer immediately hopped on a call with him and in minutes, we revised the designs to fit exactly what Dan was looking for: front and center placement of the story of Winston and his unique relationship with Dan. We always strive to listen to our clients, because good communication is what makes great brands.
Working with Dog & Dan Handyman was a rewarding process that we’ve been thrilled to be a part of. We are now working with Dan on content marketing and website maintenance which means security, updates, backups, support, hosting, search engine optimization, and peace of mind.
