About the Client

Group Peer Support (GPS) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving mental health outcomes through peer-supported group programs for individuals, families, and communities. Their model is designed to empower people to navigate challenges alongside trained peer facilitators who have lived experience and can provide meaningful, trauma-informed support.

GPS partners with organizations across the country, including universities, behavioral health systems, community programs, and workplaces, offering curricula, training, resources, and ongoing guidance. As the organization expanded its reach, programs, and partnerships, the need for a modern, scalable digital presence became essential.

The Challenge

GPS had outgrown their previous website. While functional in its early years, the site struggled to support the organization’s growth and increasing complexity. Content had become overwhelming and disorganized, navigation was unclear, and the platform was difficult to update and maintain internally.

Key challenges included:

  • Outdated design and structure, misaligned with the organization’s current mission, professionalism, and impact
  • Disorganized navigation and inconsistent user journeys, making it difficult for diverse audiences, including individuals seeking support, organizations exploring partnership, and donors, to find relevant information
  • Content overload in some areas and content gaps in others, creating confusion instead of clarity
  • A lack of storytelling, empathy-focused messaging, and clear value propositions
  • Limited accessibility, with contrast, structure, and readability concerns
  • An inflexible backend, making updates time-consuming and difficult for the internal team
  • Needed a cohesive structure for tools, resources, events, or training materials, despite these being core offerings
  • Growing needs for integrations, including learning platforms, event systems, forms, and opt-ins

GPS needed a modern digital foundation that could communicate with clarity and compassion, guide multiple audience types, and support the organization’s ongoing expansion of programs and partnerships.

The Solution

GPS Mockup

Fingerprint Marketing partnered with Group Peer Support to reimagine their digital ecosystem from scratch, beginning with messaging, moving through visual strategy, and ending with a deeply functional, ADA-conscious website built for long-term scalability.

A comprehensive content overhaul
We began the project with a full set of content outlines and copywriting for core pages, restructuring the narrative to:

  • Speak with empathy and clarity
  • Differentiate GPS’s approach and impact
  • Address the needs of varied audiences (individuals, partners, facilitators, donors)
  • Reduce overwhelm and present information in digestible, guided pathways
  • Align the organization around consistent brand messaging

Full website mockup package for visual clarity
In parallel with content development, we created detailed mockups for the majority of the website’s pages to establish:

  • A modern and trustworthy aesthetic
  • Global styling rules and visual hierarchy
  • Layout structures for consistency and ease of expansion
  • Section transitions and micro-interactions
  • Accessibility contrast requirements from the earliest design phase

An accessibility-forward design approach
Because accessibility was a top priority for GPS, we made design decisions that supported:

  • Adequate contrast levels
  • Clear visual hierarchy
  • Legible typography
  • Proper heading structure
  • A cleaner, more consistent layout system
  • ADA-conscious color usage

A custom, scalable WordPress build
Our development team worked closely with GPS to bring the mockups and content strategy to life, building a flexible infrastructure that included:

  • Learning platform integrations for facilitator training and digital courses
  • Toolkit opt-ins and resource distribution systems
  • Event calendars and webinar integrations
  • Advanced forms and multi-step intake pathways
  • Downloadable resource libraries
  • Modular content blocks for future expansion
  • A layered backend infrastructure optimized for scalability and long-term manageability
  • ADA-conscious development practices aligned with accessibility best practices

The finished GPS website is a powerful, modern, and compassionate digital home that reflects the organization’s mission and supports their expanding reach.
