Nostalgic Web Design for Sammamish-Based Pacific Learning Academy
Pacific Learning Academy is a full-service educational company that provides academic peace of mind for families with students in middle through high school. Based in Sammamish, Washington, they provide year-round in-home tutoring and design programs to each student’s educational needs and learning pace.
The Problem
Kristen O’Malley, executive director and founder, wanted to convert more junior high students, who would likely remain in the program through high school. She also needed a way for her online presence to stand out from her competitors. Instead of giving off a corporate vibe, Kirsten wanted her website to feel more personal and be more about the success and happiness of their students.
The Solution
Fingerprint Marketing knew Pacific Learning Academy needed to make a big impact while driving action in a subtle way. We redesigned Kirsten’s website to give it a very nostalgic feel, incorporating hand-drawn visuals throughout and autumn earth tones that complement the existing logo.
When parents and students land on PLA’s website, they should instantly know they’ve come to the right place for convenient, in-home academics. On the home page, we featured a hero image with a bold benefits statement and a call to action to hear soundbites from happy clients. Also above the fold, we added an opt-in box with a compelling offer to help move prospects into the funnel straightaway.
Additionally, Kirsten wanted to place emphasis on the company’s community support. We prominently displayed local school foundation logos on the home page, then created a separate page dedicated to community connection. It highlights the company’s volunteerism efforts and major financial contributions to local nonprofit organizations that align with their educational philosophy and open doors to students.
The Result
Pacific Learning Academy’s online presence is now warm, reassuring and authoritative. When prospective parents and students visit Kirsten’s website in search of a local educational service, they’ll instantly feel confident in choosing PLA as their source for in-home tutoring and educational support.
